Message from School Administration & School Board Meeting Web Conference Tuesday April 21, 2020

Hello BAOP families,

I hope this message finds everyone in good health.
I miss seeing all of the students and hearing their chatter and laughter throughout our beautiful building! Unfortunately, I do not have a definitive answer to the question, "When will we be back at school?" I will say that we can not return to our building until Governor Cuomo states that it is safe to return (currently May 15th). Until that time, we will continue with our remote instruction daily. It is extremely important for every student to actively participate in their scheduled guided reading and guided math groups via Zoom, as well as attend all morning meetings and afternoon wrap-ups. It is during these Zoom meetings that the students are receiving live instruction and are being taught based on their individual needs. You can be assured that all Bronx Academy of Promise students continue to receive rigorous, individualized instruction during this time of remote learning. In addition, students are required to complete and submit all assignments on time. If your child is confused about an assignment or struggling to understand a lesson, please reach out to the teacher as soon as possible. If there is a reason or an extenuating circumstance preventing your child from completing assignments, the teacher must be made aware of the situation. Communication between home and school is extremely important, especially during this time of uncertainty and remote instruction. If the school does not have your most current email address and phone number, please email Ms. Lamar at clamar@bronxacademyofpromise.com. Identify the parent's full name, as well as the full names of all children and their grade level so that we can update your contact information.

¡Extraño ver a todos los estudiantes y escuchar sus conversaciones y risas en todo nuestro hermoso edificio! Desafortunadamente, no tengo una respuesta definitiva a la pregunta, "¿Cuándo volveremos a la escuela?"
