As we begin the 2021/2022 school year, I would like us all to approach each new day with an attitude of gratitude. One of the most positive lessons to be learned from living through a worldwide pandemic is that we should all be grateful that we have survived to see another day, watch our children grow and learn, to savor the beauty of nature, and to experience the joy of interacting with others.
My staff and I are excited to welcome back in-person instruction on Thursday, September 9th, to hear the sound of students walking through our hallways, laughing with each other, talking with their teachers, and engaging in their academics and school activities. I am proud of the staff for their hard work and creative solutions to educating our students under less than ideal circumstances. I am proud of our families and the school community that surrounded our children and did their best to help them adapt and thrive. I am beyond proud of our students who persevered through technical issues and adapted to remote instruction for over a year.
With our shared attitude of gratitude and pride, I am confident that we will work together to educate, communicate with, and celebrate our students. I know that together we can support our students as they readjust to in-person school attendance. Please continue to communicate with our teachers and administration when you have a question or concern, reach out to our guidance counselors when necessary, and encourage your children to always stay motivated to work hard and do their best.
In closing, I would like to say that I am grateful for the support and understanding my staff and I received from all of you as we navigated the educational challenges of the past year and a half. I could not be prouder of our BAOP family that has continually supported our students, the school, and each other. My staff and I are filled with excitement as we anticipate the safe return of all our students to the building on September 9th!
