Hello Families of Bronx Academy of Promise,
I hope this message finds you all happy & healthy!
The BAOP School Board met on Tuesday, December 8th, and decided that with the rising cases of Covid -19, especially is the vicinity of the school where cases are steadily increasing daily, Bronx Academy of Promise will continue with Fully Remote Instruction until at least the Spring Break in April. A final decision will be made in the spring to determine whether this will continue through the end of this school year. While this continues to be a difficult decision, the health and safety of all our staff and students remains the number one priority.
I am happy to announce that while our school year has been completely remote, our attendance rate has been over 95% each month! Our students are attending their live zoom classes, participating in class discussions, submitting their assignments daily and progressing in their academics. Our teachers continue to support each student's individual needs during whole class lessons, small group instruction and individualized tutoring.
I know this school year has been like no other before, and we have had to overcome many obstacles, but we have been successful, and I owe that to not only our teachers and staff, but also to all of our parents! Thank you for working with your children and for supporting our teachers. Thank you for realizing that our staff have been working tirelessly to meet the needs of all our students. Thank you for understanding that even though we may not be in the building, we are still in school and students must follow their schedule and attend all their classes. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! It takes a village to educate a child, and we couldn't be successful without all of your assistance!
